Our history, our greatest endorsement

1960
FIRST STEPS: TALLERES DE OCHANDIANO S.COOP.

In 1960, seventeen entrepreneurs in a rural area of northern Spain started a business project to generate employment in the region. Initially, Talleres de Ochandiano S.Coop. focused on manufacturing agricultural machinery. However, the drive towards industrialization has opened up new opportunities for us in the design and manufacture of metals and components for large-scale agricultural facilities. Over time, we took advantage of our experience and the increasing demand for efficient conveyor systems, resulting from technological advances and automation in the industry, to expand our product portfolio by manufacturing conveyor components.

1980
GROWTH AND NEW BUSINESS AREAS

In the 1980s, the rise of thermal power stations and steel mills in northern Spain led to a significant increase in demand for coal transport.

This, together with the industrial growth in the region, boosted our business exponentially, especially the manufacture of rollers and garland rollers for conveyor belts.

As a result, three independent production units were created: Packaging, Handling and Mining; and, in 1984, we built an exclusive production plant for rollers and garland rollers.

1990
FIRST STEPS TOWARDS INTERNATIONALIZATION

In 1990 the cooperative was renamed Rochman S.Coop. and we started exporting packaging machines, rollers and garland rollers.

The company's positive trajectory led to the expansion of the roller and garland roller plant in 1995 and the inauguration of a new plant for the Handling Division in 1999.

2008
JOINING THE ULMA GROUP

As a consequence of the synergies between our company and ULMA Group in some sectors, the general assemblies of both entities approved the integration of Rochman S.Coop. into ULMA Group. Thus, in May 2008, ULMA Conveyor Components S. Coop. was created, dedicated exclusively to the manufacture and sale of conveyor belt components.

2010 - 2012
INNOVATION, QUALITY AND CONSULTING

We moved away from light load applications to specialize in the design and manufacture of heavy-duty rollers.

At the same time, we developed low-noise rollers for facilities close to inner cities.

2013 - 2015
BRANCHES CLOSER TO OUR CUSTOMERS

Between 2013 and 2014 we opened offices in Chile, Peru and Germany, achieving approvals and contracts in the large-scale mining industry in these countries, as well as in Indonesia.

2015 - 2020
FOCUS AND INDUSTRY 4.0

We focus our commercial strategy on large mines and engineering projects, markets where our quality and service add value to our products.

In 2017 we launched our first Roller Monitoring System, GAZIMO 1.0. integrating advanced production techniques with smart technologies.

At the same time, we moved towards internationalization, expanding our sales network to the USA, Australia, Mexico and Canada.

2020 - 2022
SALES NETWORK

During the pandemic, we strengthened our sales network in strategic countries and optimized our value chain to offer effective solutions for bulk material transportation:

  • We implemented logistics improvements to ensure greater responsiveness.
  • We adopted the Lean Services methodology to maximize the efficiency and quality of our customer service.
  • We developed new product ranges, such as the ultralight composite roller, in addition to relaunching the pulley line.
2023
INTERNATIONAL CONSOLIDATION

We entered the Canadian market and opened a commercial branch there.
