ULMA Conveyor Components starts the year 2023 with the installation of a roller monitoring system in one of the most important copper mines in northern Chile.
In a region like Antofagasta, where environmental and working conditions are so demanding, the roller monitoring system developed by ULMA Conveyor Components, called GAZIMO, offers a simple and ergonomic solution to one of the most tedious tasks in mining: maintenance.
The mining companies in the area generally have the same problem, which stems from the difficult access to the components that make up the conveyor. Performing some of the maintenance operations on these components has become a very difficult mission due to the complexity of the structures.
The GAZIMO system monitors the state of the rollers of a conveyor in real time from any place and at any time. Not only does it offer the possibility of much more precise preventive maintenance, but it also eliminates unnecessary and sometimes dangerous actions that may be carried by the mine´s maintenance personal.
A solution that could well be part of the future of mining in Chile, being able to identify and report potential risks that could cause unexpected stoppages in the production line.
